Crushed...

Sidney looked down at her test results, feeling crushed. The CPA had designated her as an accountant, something she had never dreamed of being. Not only did Sidney lack profieciency in many math concepts, she had a vehement dislike for the topic as a whole. She wondered how the COA could have completely misread her, putting her in a career path that relied heavily on her strongest weakness. She left her guidance counselor's office feeling dejected, wishing things could return to how they had been in past generations.

Sidney's guidance counselor felt horrible watching Sidney leave the office, clearly feeling misearble about the results of the CPA. Every few years, the CPA designated students to the incorrect occupations. It pained Sidney's guidance counselor to see these children steered the wrong way by the system, especially because there was nothing she could do to prevent it. In the past, before the CPA, it had been up to the student to choose their desired occupation. They could choose 50 different occupations over their lifetime, or they could find their single passion. Sidney's guidance counselor missed the days when she could advise students on these career decisions, as it was what gave her job purpose.

This error is one of the fatal flaws of the system instituted by the Creators. In the generations after Sidney, mistrust continued to grow as students were continuously placed into occupations that didn't fit them. Instead of revolutionizing productivity, the Creators made a system of misery and disappointment. Eventually, things returned to how they had been in 21st century America.
